According to a report, linebacker Deion Jones is set to join the Buffalo Bills on a one-year contract, further bolstering the team’s roster for the upcoming 2024 NFL season. The 29-year-old, an eight-year NFL veteran, has previously played for three teams, most recently with the Carolina Panthers in the previous season. Beginning his NFL journey as a second-round pick for the Atlanta Falcons in 2016, Jones spent six seasons with them before a stint with the Cleveland Browns in 2022.

Across his eight-year career, Jones has participated in 109 games, starting in 91 of them. His impressive statistics include 731 tackles (475 solo), 50 tackles for loss, 24 quarterback hits, 12 sacks, 53 pass defenses, five forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, and 13 interceptions for a total of 384 yards and five touchdowns.

The majority of Jones’ noteworthy achievements occurred during his time with the Falcons, where he earned recognition as a member of the PFWA All-Rookie Team in 2016 and a Pro Bowl nomination in 2017. Known for his speed, Jones recorded an impressive 40-yard dash time of 4.38 seconds and a 35” vertical jump during pre-draft evaluations in 2016.

Jones’ addition to the Bills’ linebacker corps brings valuable depth for the 2024 season, complemented by his extensive starting experience, knack for game-changing plays, and versatility in adapting to various defensive schemes.
