An NFL insider has identified three potential landing spots for Russell Wilson in the upcoming 2024 season, following his likely departure from the Denver Broncos. Wilson’s tenure with the Broncos seems to have concluded, marking a trend of transitions from NFL teams and esteemed coaches in successive years. Despite less-than-ideal endings in both Seattle and Denver, there appears to be substantial interest in him for the next season.

Wilson displayed relatively effective quarterbacking skills during his time with Denver, showing improvements in touchdown rates and interception percentages compared to previous seasons. While his execution of Sean Payton’s offense might not have been ideal for Denver, Wilson’s ability to safeguard the ball and keep the team competitive in games was evident. Nevertheless, due to contractual considerations, Denver chose a different path. Set to be released at the commencement of the 2024 NFL offseason, Wilson has garnered attention from several potential suitors.

During an appearance on SportsCenter, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler mentioned the Atlanta Falcons, New England Patriots, and Pittsburgh Steelers as teams likely to pursue Wilson in 2024, based on discussions with NFL insiders. Wilson’s statistics from the 2023 season show solid performance metrics, reflecting a quarterback who has adapted his style to suit his current career phase. A significant portion of Wilson’s throws last season were executed behind the line of scrimmage or within short distances of it.

Looking ahead, the Patriots, unless they secure a top-two pick in the 2024 NFL Draft, could potentially bolster their roster with players like wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. or offensive tackle Olu Fashanu, envisioning Wilson as their starting quarterback for the 2024 season. Meanwhile, the Falcons, under Arthur Smith’s offensive scheme, appear to be a well-suited environment for Wilson’s strengths. Acquiring a veteran quarterback known for smart decision-making and ball protection could position Atlanta as a formidable contender in the NFC South for the upcoming season.
