Kentucky Adds Oregon State Transfer

New Kentucky coach Kenny Brooks has secured his 13th and final scholarship player for the 2024-25 season by landing Oregon State transfer Dominika Paurova, who announced her commitment on social media Wednesday.

Paurova, a 6-foot-1 guard, averaged 5.5 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in 16.5 minutes per game, while shooting 37.2% from three-point range as a freshman, helping the Beavers achieve a 27-8 record and reach the Elite 8 this season. In the NCAA Tournament’s first round, she scored 17 points with three assists and two steals in a 73-51 win over Eastern Washington. Paurova entered the transfer portal on April 12.

Hailing from Mlada Boleslav, Czech Republic, Paurova has significant national team experience, averaging 17.4 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists while shooting 40% from three-point range at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup in Madrid, Spain, last summer.

Paurova is the sixth transfer portal addition for Kentucky this offseason, joining All-American point guard Georgia Amoore (Virginia Tech), 6-foot-5 freshman center Clara Strack (Virginia Tech), 6-foot-4 forward Teonni Key (North Carolina), 5-foot-8 guard Dazia Lawrence (Charlotte), and 6-foot-1 guard Jordan Obi (Penn).

Additionally, the Wildcats have signed 6-foot-1 Canadian guard Tanah Becker, 6-foot-2 four-star Florida wing Lexi Blue, 6-foot-3 junior college transfer Amelia Hassett, and 6-foot-7 Portuguese center Clara Silva. Brooks also retained UK guards Cassidy Rowe and Saniah Tyler.
