At Auburn, Davis was benched during the 2021 season despite a successful high school career and faced increased competition when Auburn brought in additional quarterbacks. This led him to transfer to Alabama State, where he started nine games in his first season, earning MVP honors at the MEAC-SWAC Challenge. In 2023, he played in five games, completing 42 of 61 passes for 413 yards and three touchdowns before ending the season on the bench and entering the transfer portal.

In his transfer announcement, Davis thanked Alabama State and its coaching staff for their support and expressed gratitude for his time there. With two years of eligibility remaining, Davis is now set to continue his collegiate career at the University of Texas at San Antonio.
