Florida Gators Secure Transfer Commitment from USC Offensive Lineman Jason Zandamela The Florida Gators secured a significant transfer addition on Thursday with the announcement that former in-state lineman Jason Zandamela would be joining their ranks.

Jason Zandamela, a transfer from USC and standing at 6-3, 306 pounds, hails from Clearwater, FL, and attended Clearwater Academy International. His decision to transfer to Florida comes shortly after he visited Gainesville on an official visit.

Originally a member of the 2024 class, Zandamela had initially enrolled at USC but opted to transfer closer to his hometown of Clearwater and his support network. This move brings him back to Florida, where the Gators had previously pursued him during his high school recruitment. Despite losing out to USC at that time, the Gators’ continued connection and familiarity with Zandamela played a pivotal role in securing his commitment this time around.

Zandamela’s background adds to his appeal as an athlete, having transitioned from rugby to football upon moving to Clearwater. Despite starting to play football relatively late in high school, his athleticism and potential for growth in the sport are evident.

In choosing Florida, Zandamela opted for the Gators over UCF, with the Knights being the only other team he officially visited during his recruitment process.
