The Dutch center-forward has had a remarkable season in Serie A, contributing 10 goals and four assists in 28 appearances for Bologna. His impressive performances have played a significant role in Bologna’s ascent to fourth place in the league, positioning them well for a Champions League qualification.

As a product of Bayern Munich’s youth system, Zirkzee is expected to seek a transfer this summer, with numerous clubs expressing interest in acquiring his services.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Zirkzee has expressed a strong desire to join Milan and has instructed his representatives to facilitate this potential move. Milan’s rich history with Dutch football, dating back to iconic figures like Marco van Basten, Ruud Gullit, and Frank Rijkaard, likely adds to Zirkzee’s appeal.

The report suggests that Milan is preparing a proposal to entice Bologna, which includes a cash offer of €50 million along with the transfer of Alexis Saelemaekers, who is currently on loan at Bologna and would make the move permanent.

Given that Manchester United paid €75 million plus bonuses for Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta, Bologna considers Zirkzee’s valuation to be in a similar range.

Additionally, Bologna is motivated to maximize the transfer fee due to their obligation to pay Bayern Munich 40% of the future sell-on fee, stemming from their €8.5 million purchase of Zirkzee in 2022.
