The Miami Dolphins have extended a contract proposal to wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., aiming to bolster their already formidable offense. Head coach Mike McDaniels revealed that the Dolphins recently made an offer to the seasoned wideout, who paid a visit to the team last week. However, an immediate agreement was not reached between the two parties. Beckham has also garnered interest from other teams, including the Carolina Panthers and the New York Jets.

McDaniels stated, “We did extend an offer to him, and negotiations take time, especially with players like Odell, who have had an outstanding career, still possess considerable talent, and have multiple options available.” He emphasized that discussions with Beckham will continue, with the outcome remaining uncertain.

The Dolphins currently boast Pro Bowler Tyreek Hill and 2021’s first-round pick Jaylen Waddle as their top receivers. With the departure of Cedrick Wilson Jr., their third wideout in free agency, the team appears to be eyeing Beckham for this vacancy.

Although once renowned as one of the premier wide receivers in the league, Beckham’s productivity has declined in recent years due to injuries. Since 2019, when he last surpassed 1,000 receiving yards in a season, Beckham has played only 35 games and missed the entire 2022 season due to an ACL injury.

Beckham spent the 2023 season with the Baltimore Ravens, recording 35 receptions for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
