The Blues, who incurred a £90.1 million pre-tax loss, are committed to complying with PSR regulations. Williams, who has a release clause in his contract, is priced at £43 million. Newcastle United has also expressed interest in the 21-year-old winger, who showcased his skills during a friendly match against the Magpies in 2022.
Williams, primarily a left winger but adaptable to the right flank, has contributed six goals and 11 assists across all competitions this season. He has earned 11 caps for Spain, while his older brother, Inaki, has represented Ghana 17 times. Despite signing a contract extension with Athletic Club in December, Williams’ release clause remains at £43 million per La Liga regulations.
