Breaking: Packers Are Reportedly Expected To Release All-Pro Tackle

The Green Bay Packers are reportedly considering parting ways with star left tackle David Bakhtiari, whose tenure with the team has been impressive but has been hampered by injuries in recent years. According to a report from The Athletic, the team is expected to release the 32-year-old lineman in the coming days. Bakhtiari suffered a torn ACL during practice late in 2020, limiting him to just one game last season, and he has struggled to fully recover from the injury since then.

Having spent his entire 11-year career in Wisconsin, Bakhtiari is set to enter the final year of his notable contract extension. Despite his injury concerns, several teams may express interest in acquiring the talented offensive lineman, with the New York Jets emerging as a potential destination. Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers previously hinted at the possibility of Bakhtiari joining the team through cryptic social media posts last offseason, although no trade materialized. Given the Jets’ current struggles with their offensive line, bolstering protection for their franchise quarterback appears to be a pressing need.
