Good News: Just In NCAA Defensive Best Commit To Georgia Bulldogs

Isaiah Gibson, a five-star defensive end, committed to Georgia on Monday, less than a week after decommitting from USC. Hailing from Warner Robins, Georgia, Gibson is ranked as the No. 17 overall recruit and the top edge rusher in the 2025 class by 247Sports. Initially committed to USC in March, Gibson decided to withdraw his commitment last Tuesday.

He recently visited Ohio State, Tennessee, and Auburn, and had offers from Texas and Alabama. Despite his initial commitment to USC, Georgia remained interested in the 6-foot-4, 245-pound prospect. According to Gibson, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart texted him “one minute” after his pledge to USC, and other Bulldogs coaches also reached out to him.

“Everybody was like they’re going to be there until the end,” Gibson said. Gibson is now Georgia’s third five-star commit from the class of 2025, joining linebacker Zayden Walker (No. 10 recruit) and tight end Elyiss Williams (No. 21). Last fall, as a junior at Warner Robins High School, Gibson recorded 17 sacks.
