Auburn Tigers News: Football Lands 3-Star CB, Basketball Adds Another Transfer

In today’s update, Auburn football secures another 2025 commitment, while Auburn basketball welcomes a new transfer.

Auburn Football Adds 3-Star Cornerback Over the weekend, 3-star cornerback Dante Core committed to the Auburn football team. Core, ranked as the #64 cornerback in the 2025 recruiting class and the #80 player in Florida, made his decision after his second visit to Auburn on Saturday. Previously committed to South Florida, Core reopened his recruitment last fall and nearly committed to Auburn on A-Day before finalizing his choice during his second visit.

“I just felt like it is a great fit for me,” Core told Auburn Undercover. “It feels like home. The hospitality is great. I’m ready to work. The feeling I get when I step on campus is surreal. I love all the staff, I love the coaches, I love the culture that they’re building here. It makes me feel at home every time I step foot on campus here.”

With Core’s commitment, Auburn football now has 11 commits in their 2025 class, which is ranked #11 nationally.

Auburn Basketball Adds Transfer Ja’Heim Hudson Auburn basketball also made roster changes this weekend. After a midweek visit, former SMU forward Ja’Heim Hudson joined Bruce Pearl’s team with one year of eligibility remaining. The Marietta, GA native started his career at Georgia State and spent two seasons there before transferring to SMU. Last season, Hudson was a key bench player for the Mustangs, averaging 5.4 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 43.4% from the field.

Auburn adds commitment from CB Dante Core

“It’s a huge deal,” Hudson said after his visit, as reported by Auburn Undercover. “I have dreamed of being on this type of stage and now I’m getting the opportunity. It’s almost too good to be true. It’s definitely a great opportunity. I want to take the best route. I want to make the most of it.”

With the additions of JP Pegues and Ja’Heim Hudson, Auburn basketball is still seeking to add another point guard to their roster.
