The Steelers have expanded their roster by signing five undrafted free agents, following their acquisition of seven players in the draft. Among the newcomers are Beanie Bishop (CB, West Virginia), Daijun Edwards (RB, Georgia), John Rhys Plumlee (QB, Central Florida), Julius Welschof (LB, Charlotte), and Jacoby Windmon (LB, Michigan State).

With the addition of two linebackers, including Jacoby Windmon, who demonstrated his skills with 119 tackles and 6.5 sacks at UNLV in 2021, the Steelers have strengthened their defense. However, Windmon’s role decreased after transferring to Michigan State, where he amassed 41 tackles over two seasons. Julius Welschof, formerly a situational defensive lineman at Michigan and Charlotte, is undergoing a position change with the Steelers.
