Introducing Britain’s latest addition to the NFL scene, Travis Clayton, who made headlines by transitioning from an eighth-tier rugby club, Basingstoke, to the Buffalo Bills after being selected 221st overall in the seventh round of the NFL Draft. Clayton follows in the footsteps of Louis Rees-Zammit, who also made the switch from rugby union to American football with the Kansas City Chiefs. At 23 years old, Clayton is embarking on a new journey in the US, leaving behind his rugby career to pursue his NFL dream.

Standing at an impressive 6 feet 7 inches tall and possessing remarkable speed for his size, Clayton caught the eye of the Bills through the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program. Despite limited experience in American football, having previously been part of the NFL Academy in London, Clayton was chosen as an offensive lineman by his new team. Now, his focus is on earning a spot on the active roster in Buffalo, with his opportunity coming during the team’s Organized Team Activities (OTAs) and training camp.

Expressing gratitude to his supporters, Clayton took to social media to thank his UK fanbase and vowed to represent them proudly on the NFL stage. Equipped with impressive physical attributes, including his towering stature and remarkable acceleration, Clayton is ready to make his mark in the league.
