Former AC Milan captain Riccardo Montolivo believes that Inter Milan could further strengthen their squad by signing Mehdi Taremi from Porto and Piotr Zielinski from Napoli.

Mehdi Taremi "punished" by Porto but already set objective at Inter Milan

Montolivo shared his insights on the potential transfers during an interview with Italian broadcaster DAZN, as reported by FCInterNews.

Despite already boasting a formidable squad, Inter Milan appears to be proactive in the upcoming summer transfer window, aiming to reinforce their already strong lineup.

The Nerazzurri have a track record of capitalizing on free transfers to bolster their squad, with notable acquisitions such as Hakan Calhanoglu, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Andre Onana, and Marcus Thuram.

Piotr Zielinski & Napoli begin "messy transfer" as Inter transfer looms

Two additional signings, Mehdi Taremi and Piotr Zielinski, are expected to enhance Inter’s depth in key positions, potentially challenging for starting spots next season. Montolivo suggests that this injection of fresh talent could prevent the team from stagnating and maintain their competitiveness in Serie A.

Montolivo also expressed his belief that Inter should retain their core squad for the upcoming season while welcoming new signings. He highlighted Zielinski’s quality, describing him as an excellent player who could secure a starting position in the team.

Regarding the future of Inter’s current manager, Simone Inzaghi, Montolivo dismissed comparisons with Luciano Spalletti’s departure from Napoli after winning the title last season. He argued that Inzaghi could continue achieving success with Inter and build on their impressive campaign.
