Charlton Athletic received a significant boost as three key players are nearing their return to the squad, according to manager Nathan Jones. Defender Kayne Ramsey, along with fellow defender Lloyd Jones and striker Chuks Aneke, are all edging closer to making a comeback from their respective injuries.

Ramsey, who joined Charlton from Harrogate Town in January, has been sidelined with a hamstring injury, limiting his appearances to matches against Lincoln City and Derby County. Lloyd Jones, who has featured 32 times this season since joining from Cambridge United, hasn’t played since the victory over Cheltenham Town earlier in the month. Similarly, Aneke, who has made only 10 appearances this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists, has been out since February.

Charlton’s recent 1-1 draw with Fleetwood Town before the international break was a disappointment, and the team aims to bounce back in their upcoming match against Exeter City on Good Friday.

Speaking to the club’s official website, coach Jones expressed optimism about the trio’s progress: “They’re all much closer than before the break, so the squad’s in a much healthier position.” He also praised the fans for their support, noting their positive energy and vocal presence at every game.

With only seven games left in the season, the return of these players is timely for Charlton Athletic, who are striving to finish the campaign strongly under Jones’ leadership. The manager has brought in experienced signings like Kazenga Lualua and Connor Wickham, signaling a promising future for the club as they aim to build on their progress next season.
