Giroud, whose current deal with Milan concludes on June 30, has made it clear that he won’t be extending his stay with the Rossoneri. Instead, he is keen on embarking on a new chapter in his career in the United States, with a preference towards joining Los Angeles FC.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, a preliminary agreement has been struck for an 18-month contract, commencing on July 1, coinciding with his free agency.

Since his arrival from Chelsea in the summer of 2021 for just under €3m, Giroud has proven to be a remarkable asset for Milan, contributing 46 goals and 20 assists in 121 competitive appearances for the club. Nonetheless, with Giroud set to turn 38 in September, Milan must now focus on integrating younger strikers for the future.

Despite his age, Giroud demonstrated his enduring quality by scoring in France’s 3-2 friendly victory over Chile on Tuesday, further solidifying his position as the all-time leading scorer in the history of the French national team.
