The New Orleans Saints are currently in discussions with Mizzou defensive back Kris Abrams-Draine as part of the team’s activities during the university’s Pro Day. Despite speculation about a potential trade involving Marshon Lattimore, the star cornerback remains with the Saints for now, and the team’s interest in Abrams-Draine signals a proactive approach to bolstering their cornerback options.

Lions draft prospect of the day: Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri

Abrams-Draine, who is projected to excel as a slot cornerback in the NFL, has caught the attention of the Saints due to his impressive performance during his college career and standout display at the Senior Bowl. This comes at a time when the Saints’ cornerback lineup, particularly in the slot position, has been somewhat uncertain, with Alontae Taylor primarily occupying that role last season, despite being better suited as an outside cornerback.

While Paulson Adebo has shown promise as an outside cornerback, the Saints may be eyeing Abrams-Draine to add depth and versatility to their defensive backfield. If the Saints choose to target a defensive back in the third or fourth round of the draft, Abrams-Draine could emerge as a viable option, especially if the team acquires a pick in that range via trade.
