AC Milan’s potential interest in PSG’s sensation Gonçalo Ramos appears to have hit a snag due to economic barriers, according to an expert. The Serie A club may find themselves in the market for a striker this summer, with reports suggesting Olivier Giroud is in talks with LAFC for a possible move. This situation could prompt AC Milan to consider pursuing Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Portuguese striker’s name emerged this week as a possible target for AC Milan, with his agent, Jorge Mendes, reportedly ready to propose him as a replacement for Giroud.

Daniele Longo, speaking to RadioRossonera, mentioned that AC Milan has held a longstanding admiration for Ramos since his time at SL Benfica, indicating a genuine interest in the player. However, he also pointed out the potential hurdles in negotiating with PSG, who are known to be reluctant to sell players on loan to top clubs. Longo suggested that AC Milan might only entertain discussions for Ramos if they could secure a loan deal or agree on financially advantageous terms.

In November, PSG exercised a clause to secure Ramos from Benfica, committing to a potential €80 million payment, including add-ons, and extending his contract until 2028, as reported by GOAL.

If PSG were to consider selling Ramos, they would likely seek to recoup a significant portion of that sum, raising questions about whether they are willing to sell and if AC Milan can afford a fee close to €80 million.
