Newcastle United’s transfer push continues, with a fourth addition to Eddie Howe’s squad now imminent.

Earlier this week, the Magpies confirmed the £34.3million signing of centre-back Malick Thiaw from AC Milan on a four-year deal, making him their third major arrival of the summer after Anthony Elanga and Aaron Ramsdale.

Attention now turns to Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey, who is set to join Newcastle after personal terms were agreed. According to Fabrizio Romano, the clubs have settled on a £40million transfer fee, with the 23-year-old midfielder travelling to Tyneside for his medical.

Ramsey’s arrival will strengthen a position Howe has been keen to reinforce, marking another key step in Newcastle’s summer rebuild.
