The Seattle Mariners, the hottest team in the American League with a 9-1 record over their last 10 games, are set for a challenging nine-game East Coast swing across four cities including a special stop in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Manager Dan Wilson said after their seventh straight win that the goal is to “keep the momentum going” on the road.
Seattle opens with three games in humid, storm-prone Baltimore against the struggling Orioles, who, despite a 53-65 record and roster changes, swept the Mariners earlier this season when Seattle was in a slump. Since then, roster upgrades like Josh Naylor and Eugenio Suárez, along with improved performances from rookies and Randy Arozarena, have transformed the lineup.
The Orioles, meanwhile, have traded several key players but will start their top pitchers, Trevor Rogers and Tomoyuki Sugano, in the series.
The Mariners’ road trip continues with two games against the Mets in New York before both teams head to Williamsport for the Little League Classic. They will then finish with three games against the NL East-leading Phillies in Philadelphia.
Off the field, right-hander Ryan Sloan, ranked No. 42 by MLB Pipeline, will make his High-A Everett debut Saturday. The Mariners lead MLB with nine players in the Top 100 prospects list, including Colt Emerson (No. 11), Kade Anderson (No. 22), and Lazaro Montes (No. 29).
