Celtic and Rangers could both be active in the final weeks of the 2025 transfer window, with potential incomings and outgoings still on the table.
Celtic eye up to four signings but with one key condition
According to Football Insider, Celtic could bring in as many as four new players before the deadline, but only if they secure a place in the Champions League group stage. Brendan Rodgers’ side have kept spending relatively modest so far this summer, yet qualification would trigger a busy end to the window. The Hoops need to get past either Slovan Bratislava or FC Kairat in the final qualifying round to guarantee their European spot.
Palmeiras open talks for £5.1m Rangers deal
On the other side of Glasgow, Rangers may still see movement in the market, with interest emerging in left-back Jefte. Brazilian outlet Record Sport, citing transfer expert Andre Hernan, reports that Palmeiras have “opened talks” to bring the 21-year-old back to Brazil just a year after his move from Fluminense. The São Paulo club are reportedly willing to pay up to €6 million (£5.1m) for his signature.
Jefte, who is under contract at Ibrox until 2028, remains a key figure for Rangers, meaning the club are under no obligation to sell despite the strong interest from Brazil.
