BREAKING: Goalkeeper Burton signs Wrexham Extension

Wrexham Keeper Callum Burton Commits Until 2027

Wrexham have secured goalkeeper Callum Burton on a new two‑year deal, keeping him at the club through the end of the 2026–27 season.

The 28‑year‑old featured in four League One matches as the Dragons clinched promotion to the Championship. Burton’s 2024–25 campaign was cut short by a thigh injury, but he’s aiming to make a greater impact when the new season kicks off.

“I loved my year here last year even though it got cut short by injury,” Burton reflected. “Wrexham is a club on the rise, and I want to be able to play my part in that.”

Burton began last season as Arthur Okonkwo’s backup, stepping in after the first-choice keeper broke his wrist in November 2024. Unfortunately, Burton then suffered his own injury in December and missed the remainder of Wrexham’s promotion push.

With veteran Mark Howard released this summer, Wrexham have also re-signed Wales international Danny Ward on a two-year deal ahead of their Championship return. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Luke McNicholas has moved to Forest Green Rovers, becoming one of new manager Robbie Savage’s inaugural signings.
