OFFICIALLY: Manager confirms Wolves have been in ‘Contact’ over Selling key player in Shock Revelation

Wolves are in talks with a European club about another possible sale in the summer transfer window.

As soon as the market opened, Matheus Cunha signed for Manchester United, only to be followed to the city by Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Ait-Nouri has impressed since joining Manchester City, already reminding Wolves of the calibre of player they’ve lost.

Replacing the Algerian is going to be a tough task for Vitor Pereira, but fortunately, the Old Gold have an in-house solution…or so we assumed.

Robin van Persie confirms contact with Wolves over Hugo Bueno transfer

Hugo Bueno returned from spending the 2024/25 season on loan at Feyenoord with a clear pathway to the starting XI following Ait-Nouri’s departure.

The Spaniard impressed in the Netherlands, where he got some valuable Champions League experience under his belt.

There was some concern, as Feyenoord made their desire to sign Bueno again known, but it’s understood that Wolves don’t wish to let the 22-year-old depart again.

That being said, fresh news from the Netherlands paints a different picture, as Feyenoord manager Robin van Persie spoke to the media about a possible move for Bueno.

“There is contact with Wolves, but we will have to see in the coming period whether that will work,” Van Persie revealed to Rijnmond.

What came next might unsettle some in the West Midlands, as the Premier League icon admitted that Feyenoord aren’t willing to ‘share’ the plan they’ve ‘mapped out’.

“We have mapped out what we want, but I will not share it here. If something happens here or there, we know what to do.”

The Dutch club find themselves in the same situation as Wolves, as after losing left-back Quilindschy Hartman to Burnley, Bueno is considered to be the ideal solution.

Vitor Pereira has other options than Bueno

Pereira has spoken about Bueno’s role at Wolves in the future, making it clear that the Spaniard will be utilised as a wing-back.

While the defender is the favourite to succeed Ait-Nouri, he’s not the sole solution to the matter, as Pereira has alternative options to play at wing-back.

Rodrigo Gomes is able to play at left-wing-back, as is young Pedro Lima; however, the Brazilian is better suited to the right.

Given what Pereira has already seen from Gomes and how impressive the 2024 signing has been when in action, there’s room for competition between the Portugal U21 international and Bueno.

It’s set to be a fascinating battle and one that Wolves will relish; however, with Feyenoord not giving up their pursuit, it remains to be seen who will be in Pereira’s squad next term.
