Celtic on Verge of Sealing Transfer That Leaves Danish Giants Gutted Over Missed ‘Dream Signing’
Celtic are accelerating their summer transfer push, with manager Brendan Rodgers methodically assembling his squad for the upcoming campaign. With Kieran Tierney’s return from Arsenal reportedly wrapped up and Callum Osmand of Fulham potentially next in line, attention is now turning to further key additions.

However, it’s Benjamin Nygren who’s generating the biggest buzz. The Sweden international, heavily linked to Celtic over the last couple of weeks, is now close to finalising his move to Glasgow a development that could seriously disappoint Brøndby and FC Copenhagen, who were also chasing the 23-year-old attacker.
Danish football pundit David Boysen told the Daily Record:
“Nygren would’ve been a dream signing for both Brøndby and Copenhagen, and even Midtjylland would’ve loved to have him. He’s a versatile, high-quality player who thrives with added responsibility. As captain at FC Nordsjælland, he’s really stepped up and proved his leadership and scoring prowess. He’s an absolutely fantastic player.”
Nygren, who scored in his Sweden national team debut, has enjoyed a meteoric rise. After beginning his career at Utbynäs SK at just six years old, he moved to IFK Gothenburg, where he scored six goals in 15 games. A move to Genk didn’t pan out, and a loan to Heerenveen offered little success but he has since flourished at FC Nordsjælland.
Now on the cusp of joining Celtic, Nygren’s journey from a little-known youth setup in Sweden to a potential star at Parkhead marks a significant moment in both his career and Celtic’s summer rebuild while delivering a major blow to their Danish rivals.
