Rangers told they are about to leave Brondby and FC Copenhagen gutted by stealing their ‘dream signing’

Rangers appear poised to deliver a major blow to both Brøndby and FC Copenhagen by closing in on a key defensive signing considered a “dream target” for the Danish clubs.

According to the Daily Record, the Ibrox side are in advanced negotiations with Leicester City for the transfer of Conor Coady. The experienced centre-back, who has earned 10 caps for England, is reportedly high on Rangers’ list as they look to strengthen their defence under new manager Russell Martin.

While Wolverhampton Wanderers Coady’s former club were reportedly interested in bringing him back to Molineux, Rangers have taken the lead in talks, and a move to Glasgow now looks increasingly likely. Coady has one year remaining on his current deal at Leicester, but uncertainty over his role at the club has opened the door for a potential switch.

In a separate development, Tom Lawrence, who was recently released by Rangers, is being strongly linked with a return to his roots. The Wales international is reportedly considering an offer from Wrexham AFC, who are preparing for life in the EFL Championship. Lawrence is said to be “flattered” by the interest from his hometown club, with Wrexham ready to present a compelling financial package to bring the midfielder to the STōK Cae Ras.
