After narrowly missing a Super Bowl appearance last season due to a tough AFC Championship loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills are looking to bounce back stronger in 2025. Despite that heartbreaking defeat, the team had a stellar season and is aiming to build on that momentum with MVP quarterback Josh Allen at the helm.
NFL analyst Jeffri Chadiha recently highlighted teams he believes could dethrone the Philadelphia Eagles in the upcoming season, and the Bills earned a high spot on that list. In a May 20 feature for NFL.com, Chadiha identified four franchises capable of knocking off the reigning NFC powerhouse. Unsurprisingly, the Chiefs took the top spot, but the Bills came in at No. 2.
Chadiha praised Buffalo for overcoming the loss of key veterans like Stefon Diggs, Jordan Poyer, and Micah Hyde, proving doubters wrong in 2024. “Buffalo didn’t falter after those departures,” he wrote, adding that the team could be even more dangerous this year. “The question isn’t who will rise to the occasion it’s whether they’ll do it when it matters most.”
Buffalo’s playoff exit marked the fifth straight year the team reached the postseason only to fall short with four of those losses coming at the hands of the Chiefs. Still, Chadiha believes the Bills are inching closer to a championship. He emphasized Josh Allen’s growth and maturity, noting his 2024 MVP season as a sign of what’s to come. “There’s every reason to think they’ll win it all soon,” he said.
Chadiha concluded that Buffalo has both the talent and the quarterback to capture a Super Bowl title. The key? Making critical defensive plays when it counts.

Josh Allen Continues to Earn Praise
Further backing Allen’s elite status, Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranked him in the top quarterback tier in its May 20 QB rankings for the 2025 season. Allen landed at No. 4, behind Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Lamar Jackson. According to PFF, his 95.4 overall grade over the past three seasons leads all QBs, and his 91.4 passing grade ranks third. Even after losing top receivers in 2023, Allen delivered a career-best performance in 2024, earning MVP honors.
