Pro Football Focus recently compiled a list of the top NFL players from the past 25 years by position, and Denver Broncos icon Von Miller was among those honored. In an article by Jonathon Macri, Miller was recognized as the top edge rusher of the PFF era.
Miller holds the most sacks recorded during the PFF era with 139 and boasts the highest all-time PFF grade for an edge defender. Across 13 seasons and exactly 10,000 defensive snaps, he has earned a 90.0+ PFF overall grade in nine separate seasons more than any other player at his position. He and Nick Bosa are the only edge defenders to rank in the top five in career pressure rate (16.5%), pass-rush win rate (16.7%), and PFF pass-rush grade (93.9).
Selected second overall by Denver in 2011, Miller made an immediate impact, winning Defensive Rookie of the Year and becoming a consistent force on defense. His pinnacle came in Super Bowl 50, where he delivered 2.5 sacks and claimed MVP honors in the Broncos’ championship win over the Panthers.

Standing 6-foot-3 and weighing around 250 pounds, Miller’s speed, flexibility, and technique make him one of the most feared pass rushers ever. Known for his signature dip-and-rip move, he also mastered various counter techniques like spin moves and bull rushes, making him effective against any offensive tackle.
Though injuries have slowed him at times, Miller has remained productive during stints with the Rams and Bills. Currently a free agent, the veteran defender is looking to play one more season. With a résumé that includes elite performance, leadership, and a Super Bowl MVP, Miller has built a career worthy of first-ballot Hall of Fame induction. Once his playing days end, don’t be surprised if he transitions into coaching, continuing his legacy within the game he’s helped define.
