Braves Call Up Nathan Wiles, Release Amos Willingham, and Option Michael Petersen to Triple-A

What initially looked like a bullpen game for the Atlanta Braves tonight has taken a turn. Instead of piecing things together with relievers, the team has called up right-hander **Nathan Wiles** to make the start. Wiles, who was acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays during spring training (not long after the two teams played a spring game), has impressed early on at the Triple-A level. In three starts, he’s posted a **0.64 ERA, 2.38 FIP**, a **27.8% strikeout rate**, and a **9.3% walk rate** — strong numbers that have earned him this opportunity while **Spencer Strider** recovers from a hamstring injury.

Wiles, originally drafted by the Rays, spent six seasons in their system before joining Atlanta. Tonight marks a big moment for him, as the Braves look to patch the rotation while Strider is sidelined with a **Grade 1 hamstring strain

Meanwhile, **Michael Petersen**, who had only pitched two scoreless innings in his brief stint with the Braves, has been optioned back to Triple-A. His MLB cameo was short-lived, echoing the classic Simpsons moment where Grandpa walks in, sees the scene, and immediately exits.

The Braves also released **Amos Willingham**, who they claimed off waivers in January. Willingham started the season with Triple-A Gwinnett and had been on the 40-man roster but will now seek a new opportunity elsewhere.

With these roster moves, the Braves are aiming to hold steady until Strider returns. All eyes will be on Nathan Wiles tonight, hoping he can make the most of this call-up.
