Christian Pulisic revealed that he has been urging Santiago Gimenez to stay patient as the striker worked to end his scoring drought which finally came to an end in Milan’s 3-0 win over Lecce in the Coppa Italia.
The Rossoneri took full advantage of an early red card shown to Lecce, dominating the match and sealing progression to the last 16 with goals from Gimenez, Nkunku, and Pulisic himself the latter scoring once again in a strong individual run of form.
Speaking to Mediaset after the match, Pulisic emphasized the importance of patience and confidence in teammates: “I always tell Santi to be patient. He’s been playing really well recently, and if he continues like this, the goals will come and they will keep coming.”
Pulisic also reflected on his own performance and the team’s mindset: “I’m feeling good, and I want to keep this momentum going. But the most important thing is that we got the win.”
Looking ahead, he stressed focus on the next challenge: “The game against Napoli is crucial. If we play like we did tonight, we can reach our goals this season.”
