Rangers reportedly made bids to sign Viktoria Plzen striker Rafiu Durosinmi during the recent transfer window. The 22-year-old featured in both legs of the Champions League qualifier against the Ibrox side, scoring in the second leg as Plzen claimed a 2-1 victory on the night though Rangers advanced on aggregate.
New reports suggest that Rangers attempted to bring Durosinmi to Ibrox, but their offers, like those from Borussia Monchengladbach and Gent, were considered too low by the Czech club. The striker has also attracted interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
Journalist Rudy Galetti commented: “Rangers and Gladbach submitted offers for Rafiu Durosinmi in recent weeks, but Viktoria Plzen rejected them as too low, including Gent’s offer. Now, teams from Saudi Arabia and Turkey are showing interest, but the club is holding firm on its valuation.”
It had previously been reported that Durosinmi was open to a move to Gent when their bid was made.
With only a year left on his current contract, the forward could be available for a reduced fee in January or even leave for free next summer. Since joining Plzen from MFK Karvina in 2023, he has scored 28 goals.
