Andrew Cavenagh and 49ers Enterprises have backed their commitment to Rangers with an estimated £20 million net investment during the recent transfer window.
Despite being handed the managerial role at Ibrox as part of a new chapter under American ownership, Russell Martin has struggled to win over supporters. A lackluster showing against Celtic in the Old Firm clash on August 31, which ended in a draw, marked the team’s fourth straight stalemate in the league to start the season.
With the international break underway, changes at Rangers are likely on the horizon, and several of the summer signings are expected to play key roles moving forward.
Bojan Miovski Emerges as Rangers Top Signing This Summer
Chris Jack predicts that Bojan Miovski will score at least 20 goals for Rangers this season. The Scottish journalist has highlighted the North Macedonia international as the most impactful signing from the recent transfer window at Ibrox.
In an interview with the club’s official website, manager Russell Martin expressed his excitement about having the 26-year-old on the team, and fans are hopeful that Miovski will regain his form at Rangers.
Writing for The Rangers Review on September 4, Jack described Miovski as “the signing of the summer” and praised Rangers for finally acquiring a player proven in the Scottish top flight. He noted Miovski’s troublesome presence during his Old Firm debut and confidently forecasted a minimum of 20 goals by season’s end, asking readers to check back in May.
Youssef Chermiti Issue Arises for Martin at Rangers
Youssef Chermiti’s high profile transfer to Rangers from Everton involved a £10 million outlay, including add-ons marking the club’s biggest single-player purchase in 25 years. Kevin Thelwell, who initially signed the 21-year-old during his tenure at Goodison Park, has now reunited with the forward at Ibrox.
The Rangers’ sporting director clearly places significant trust in the Portugal Under-21 international, despite Chermiti featuring in only four Premier League matches last season.
Thelwell originally brought Chermiti to Everton from Sporting CP for £11.5 million in 2023. However, the striker failed to score for the Toffees and missed much of last season due to injury.
Given the hefty fee Rangers invested, Russell Martin is likely expected to start Chermiti regularly. Although Bojan Miovski is a proven goal scorer in the Scottish Premiership following a strong spell at Aberdeen, it remains uncertain who will be favored in the starting lineup.
With pressure already building on the Scottish manager, he faces several tough selection decisions at Rangers in the weeks ahead.
