Newcastle United may miss out on Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson, with Bayern Munich reportedly closing in on a loan deal for the forward. Eddie Howe is keen to strengthen his attack before the transfer deadline following Callum Wilson’s exit and growing uncertainty over Alexander Isak’s future.
Isak is pushing for a move to Liverpool, who already had a £110m bid rejected earlier this summer. The Swedish striker has been training away from the main squad and has yet to appear in Newcastle’s Premier League campaign so far.
Jackson, surplus to requirements at Chelsea, is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the window shuts. According to Sky Germany, Bayern are in advanced talks over a loan move, having already agreed personal terms with the 23-year-old and offering to cover his full wages.
Fabrizio Romano, however, notes that no final agreement has been reached with Chelsea, who may delay a decision until Isak’s situation is settled. This could leave the door slightly open for Newcastle – but they would need to move quickly, as Bayern are preparing another bid within the next 24 hours.
