Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson could be on the move, with Newcastle United emerging as front-runners for his signature. According to Italian journalist Daniele Longo, AC Milan have held fresh talks with the Senegalese forward’s camp, but a switch to San Siro is now considered unlikely. That leaves Newcastle in pole position, though no official move has been made.

A loan arrangement could become possible if Chelsea agree, with Jackson’s representatives hoping for progress soon. However, the Magpies’ pursuit hinges on Alexander Isak’s future. Should the Swedish striker depart, Newcastle are expected to step up efforts for Jackson as a replacement.

Newcastle Risk Transfer Backlash Amid Alexander Isak Standoff
Newcastle United’s handling of Alexander Isak’s transfer saga could damage their long-term recruitment prospects, according to reports. With Liverpool pushing to sign the Swedish striker, Newcastle have so far refused to budge, rejecting a £120m offer and holding firm despite Isak’s desire to leave.

Agents are said to be concerned that blocking Isak’s exit could discourage other top strikers from joining the club, fearing they may be denied a move if they impress at St James’ Park. This comes after Newcastle already missed out on key targets Benjamin Sesko, Joao Pedro, and Hugo Ekitike earlier in the summer.

The Magpies remain interested in PSG’s Goncalo Ramos, though their first approach was unsuccessful, and Brentford’s Yoane Wissa, who is valued at over £60m. However, progress has been slow, leaving Eddie Howe short of attacking options, with Anthony Gordon forced to start up front in the season opener against Aston Villa.
