Glasgow Rangers have suffered a setback in their transfer plans, with a top target opting to join another club, according to a fresh report from Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph.
Mikey Moore Joins Rangers on Loan
On a more positive note, Rangers have secured the loan signing of highly-rated Tottenham winger Mikey Moore. The 17-year-old will spend the season at Ibrox and expressed his excitement at the move, calling it a major opportunity and speaking of his family’s long-standing support for the club. Moore said the team’s playing style under Russell Martin made the decision an easy one.
Coady Snubs Rangers for Wrexham Move
However, in a major blow to the club’s defensive plans, Rangers look set to miss out on Conor Coady, who has reportedly agreed a move to Wrexham instead of heading to Ibrox. Despite Rangers’ interest, the experienced Leicester City defender has chosen to join the Welsh side, with a medical already scheduled.
Coady, a proven leader with 377 appearances across the Premier League and Championship, was seen as a strong fit for Martin’s backline. Former teammate Fabio Silva previously praised Coady as the best captain he’s ever played with, highlighting his influence both on and off the pitch.
Unfortunately for Rangers, the pull of Wrexham now backed by high-profile Hollywood owners and enjoying rapid growth appears to have swayed Coady’s decision, leaving the Gers in search of an alternative to strengthen their defense.
