Leading Rangers star agrees to join Euro side second bid imminent as replacements eyed

Rangers are edging closer to a major sale as standout striker Hamza Igamane has agreed terms with French club Lille, and a second bid for the forward is now expected. Igamane joined Rangers for just £1.7 million last summer and impressed in his debut season, scoring 16 goals and registering three assists in all competitions.

After having an initial £14.5 million offer rejected, Lille are preparing an improved bid in the region of £15–16 million, including bonuses, which is believed to meet Rangers’ valuation. Sources confirm Igamane has already reached a verbal agreement on a three-year deal with the Ligue 1 club, where he could team up with veteran Olivier Giroud.

Marseille also admire the 22-year-old Moroccan, but Lille remain in pole position to complete the signing, with Igamane lined up as a replacement for Jonathan David, whose contract ends June 30.

Rangers Line Up Two Striker Replacements

With Igamane’s departure appearing imminent, Rangers sporting director Kevin Thelwell is already exploring reinforcements. One top target is Westerlo striker Matija Frigan, who is valued at £6.5 million. Frigan, who has scored 19 goals and provided five assists in 72 games since joining from HNK Rijeka, is open to a move to Ibrox, attracted by the chance to play in Europe and for a club of Rangers’ stature.

A deal could be arranged with a smaller upfront payment, with add-ons bringing the total fee to the full amount. Rangers rate Frigan highly for his speed, finishing, and high work rate, and consider him a long-term investment.

Meanwhile, Cyriel Dessers is also a candidate to leave, with AEK Athens in talks and other clubs monitoring his situation. Should both Igamane and Dessers depart, Rangers intend to sign two new forwards to prepare for both the Scottish Premiership and European competitions.

Another forward on their radar is Maccabi Tel Aviv’s Dor Turgeman. The 20-year-old is reportedly interested in a switch to Rangers, and manager Russell Martin is aiming to secure multiple signings this window to maintain competitiveness across all competitions.
