After a disappointing 7–10 season, the Dallas Cowboys are entering 2025 with a new approach under head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The team has made significant changes to the coaching staff and is focusing on creating a more connected and competitive environment. At team headquarters in Frisco, practices now feature blaring music, adjusted locker arrangements, and even a ping-pong table aimed at encouraging camaraderie and fun.

“We want players to enjoy being here,” said Schottenheimer, noting how friendly competitions like ping-pong foster team chemistry. “It’s fun to watch offense and defense interact and talk a little trash.”

Schottenheimer is also building bonds with players off the field, organizing regular dinners—both at The Star and off-site. These gatherings are less about football and more about personal connection. “I want to know what someone named their dog, not just their third-down reads,” he said. “That kind of closeness can carry over when things get tough on the field.”

Jalen Tolbert Poised for Continued Growth After Breakout Year

Wide receiver Jalen Tolbert enters his fourth NFL season after a breakout 2024 campaign where he led the team in touchdown receptions. With the Cowboys acquiring George Pickens via trade, Tolbert is ready to embrace a new dynamic alongside a familiar rival from their high school championship days.

Tolbert is focused on consistency and refining every aspect of his game this offseason. “You never want to be stagnant,” he said, excited about the added firepower. “You can’t guard all of us. It’s going to be fun.”

Joe Milton III Impressing Early as Backup QB

Newly acquired quarterback Joe Milton III is quickly making a name for himself in Dallas. After a promising rookie outing with the Patriots, Milton is now working to secure the No. 2 QB spot behind Dak Prescott. Head coach Schottenheimer praised his early efforts, calling his work ethic “incredible” and noting how fast he’s absorbed the new playbook.

“He’s the first in and last out,” Schottenheimer said, adding that Milton’s maturity and preparation have stood out since joining the team.

Jalen Ramsey-to-Dallas Rumor Appears Unfounded

Despite speculation linking Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Cowboys, multiple insiders have poured cold water on the rumor. Though ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler listed Dallas as a “team to watch,” team insiders say there’s little to no traction.

Analyst Bryan Broaddus clarified the situation, explaining that the Cowboys were likely mentioned due to their high profile but haven’t shown any serious interest. Given their recent investments at cornerback, Ramsey doesn’t appear to be a priority target for Dallas at this time.
