Ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft, whispers began to surface about the Las Vegas Raiders having concerns over defensive tackle Christian Wilkins’ health. Wilkins, who missed most of last season due to a Jones fracture in his left foot, was initially expected to be fully recovered by the offseason.

However, according to The Athletic’s Tashan Reed, Wilkins suffered a setback in his recovery. While he ended last season out of a walking boot, team sources revealed that his foot was placed back in a boot earlier this offseason. Fortunately, he was once again seen without the boot during recent Organized Team Activities (OTAs), but the fluctuation in his recovery has raised red flags about his long-term readiness.

The Raiders have remained tight-lipped about Wilkins’ current condition, and whether or not he’s practicing and at what level will shed more light on his true status. Other key defensive players recovering from injuries include Maxx Crosby (tightrope surgery), Malcolm Koonce (ACL), and Jakorian Bennett (shoulder).

Although Wilkins’ participation in OTAs is a positive sign, his injury history now adds some uncertainty. Known for his durability, Wilkins previously started all 17 games for three consecutive seasons before his move to Las Vegas. While he’s still expected to suit up in 2025, his health will be closely watched throughout training camp.
