After another playoff disappointment against the Kansas City Chiefs, the Buffalo Bills have had an active offseason, locking down several key players with long-term deals. However, analysts suggest they might still need help at wide receiver and bringing back Amari Cooper could be a smart move.
Cooper was acquired from the Cleveland Browns midseason in exchange for a 2025 third-round pick and a 2026 seventh-round pick, with the Bills receiving a 2025 sixth-rounder in return. While he was initially expected to become a major weapon for quarterback Josh Allen, Cooper’s impact was limited he recorded just 20 receptions for 297 yards and two touchdowns in eight games.
Though a return currently seems unlikely, ESPN’s Aaron Schatz argues that Buffalo should consider re-signing Cooper to bolster their wide receiver depth, noting that the current unit still lacks strong options on the outside. Even if Cooper isn’t the star he once was, he could add value as a veteran presence and a potential playmaker.
With the wide receiver group still resembling last year’s lineup, a reunion with Cooper especially as training camp nears—might not be off the table.
